چکیده

This paper presents a temperature measurement system without the input buffer. A voltage follower or a buffer is required to minimize the influence of the ADC input impedance in the thermistor temperature measurement system. In such system, a high performance operational amplifier is usually required to prevent the noise and distortion due to the additional circuit. Negative power is also necessary to prevent the distortion of the low voltage input signal. This paper introduces a buffer-less system with a calibration method to resolve such problems. The low temperature coefficient precision resistors were employed to calibrate the input resistance and the leakage current of ADC. The experimental results show that the calibrated error decreased from 190mK to 40mK.

A New Structure for Direct Measurement of Temperature Based on Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermistor and Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference System

Thermistors are very commonly used for narrow temperature-range high-resolution applications, such as in medicine, calorimetry, and near ambient temperature measurements. In particular, Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistor is very inexpensive and highly sensitive, whose sensing temperature range and sensitivity are highly limited due to the intrinsic nonlinearity and self-heating p...

Micro-PCR Chip NTC-Thermistor Sensor-Calibration System

In this paper, we implement a Steinhart-Hart calibration-factor value measurement system to obtain accurate temperature measurements of a negative-temperature coefficient thermistor. The thermistor is mounted on a micro-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) chip in a micro-PCR systemthat requires accurate temperature measurement and control. When obtaining the calibration-factor value, it is impossib...

In Situ Thermistor Calibration for Improved Measurement of Soil Temperature Gradients

Accurate measurement of soil temperature gradients is important for the estimation of soil heat flux and latent heat flux, both major components of the surface energy balance. Soil temperature gradients are commonly measured using heat-pulse sensors equipped with thermistors. In this study, individual thermistors showed absolute temperature differences on the order of 0.2°C when placed under un...

The validity of wireless iButtons and thermistors for human skin temperature measurement.

Skin temperature is a fundamental variable in human thermo-physiology, and yet skin temperature measurement remains impractical in most free-living, exercise and clinical settings, using currently available hard-wired methods. The purpose of this study was to compare wireless iButtons and hard-wired thermistors for human skin temperature measurement. In the first of two investigations, iButtons...
